Dr Dean Anthony Gratton is an author/writer and telecommunications consultant. He possesses a unique
combination of technical and marketing experience affording him the ability to provide strategic solutions for new product development
as well as defining software protocols and architectures. Dean’s unique approach to new wireless product development and its
conceptualisation can be described as visionary engineering.
He has worked within the telecommunications industry for over fourteen years and has provided consultancy to a number of high profile
companies in addition to actively contributing to a number of technology committees (Bluetooth SIG and NFC).
Dean has authored a number of books and contentious articles on telecommunications and has begun work on his fourth book, namely
Wireless Convergence: The Technology and its Impact on the Consumer. He is also an editorial contributor to Incisor Magazine
(www.incisor.tv) and was an Editor of the Specification of the Bluetooth System: Profiles, v1.1 (the original specification).
In fact, Dean was the first author to offer an invaluable insight into Bluetooth application development with his first book,
Bluetooth Profiles: The Definitive Guide (2002).
Dean holds a BSc (Hons) Psychology and a doctorate in Telecommunications.
